Great Bend Fire/EMS
Firefighters made six ambulance runs on Tuesday, and two fire runs. At 10:11 a.m. units responded to a building on fire at 161 B SW 30 Avenue. Upon arrival found a metal shed with smoke and flames coming from the interior. An aggressive fire attack was made to extinguish the fire. Damage to the structure and continents is estimated $2500.00. Cause of the fire was burning of weeds around the outside of the building by the owner. Also assisting was the Sheriff’s office and the State Fire Investigator. And at 3:54 p.m. units responded to 2117 Kansas for a CO check in a camper. Investigation did indicate CO and the cause was the fridge not switching over from gas burning to electric.
Great Bend Police
A gas can was stolen at 2103 28th St.
Groceries were stolen at 3503 10th St.
A drivers licence and some change was stolen from a vehicle at 2727 Coronado Ave.
A Cell phone was stolen at 2334 Main St.
A TV, DVD’s, and a game console was stolen from a residence at 1017 Odell St.
Barton County Sheriff
A House was broken into at 572 NE 40 Road.
A irrigation system was shot up at 200 Block and NW 50 Road.
