Great Bend Fire/EMS
On Thanksgiving day, firefighters we dispatched to 413 Dogwood St. at 2:57 p.m. There was a fire in the oven which was creating smoke. Firefighters ventilated the structure.
At 3:11 p.m., as they were returning to the station, firefighters noticed smoke coming from a pile of rubbish at 421 Washington and extinguished that fire.
Firefighters made four ambulance runs on Wednesday, Nov. 27, four Thursday, four Friday, seven Saturday and eight Sunday.

Great Bend Police
A bike frame was found in the yard at 1019 Frey St. last Wednesday.
Yard art was reportedly stolen from 1811 Main.
A gas skip for $20.08 was reported at 5:36 p.m. Wednesday at 5200 10th St.
A report of an explosion in the area of the 2500 block of Sixth St. was reported at 9:11 p.m., but nothing was found.
Someone broke a window on the residence at 1318 Frey Apt. D.
A woman reported an unknown subject writing checks on her name without permission. She said she has also filed a case with the Ellinwood Police Department.
A male was reportedly bleeding from his face at 2:27 a.m. Thursday at 3307 10th St., but he left before police arrived.
A bovine at large was seen on 24th St. at 9:21 a.m. Thursday. It was returned to its proper place.
Vehicles driven by Doug Burt and Shane Elsen collided at 11:46 a.m. Friday at 11th and Kansas.
A $20 gas skip by a male in a red car was reported at 4:32 p.m. at 3620 10th St.
A purse that had been reported stolen was found shortly before 3:34 a.m. Saturday at 3503 10th St. and returned to its owner.
A hit-and-run vehicle struck a parked vehicle at 2012 Forest Ave.
Loud reports that sounded like gunshots were heard around 10:23 p.m. Saturday and 12:25 a.m. Sunday in the 200 block of Frey St. Nothing was found.
Shortly before 1 a.m., a loud party was reported in the 400 block of Firethorn St. Subjects left before an officer arrived.
After a disturbance on 11th St. was reported around 1:44 a.m. Sunday, a male was arrested for disorderly conduct, battery of a law enforcement officer and obstruction of official duty.
A black CD case was found in the road on Seventh St. and booked into evidence.
Multiple calls were made Saturday night and Sunday morning by an individual in the 2200 block of 17th St., who reported being harassed by unknown juveniles in her yard.
A hit-and-run vehicle struck a Grand Cherokee at 2815 Meadowlark Lane.
Barbara Cannon was driving a vehicle that struck a power pole and phone box in the 2600 block of Washington St. at 9:06 a.m. Sunday. She refused medical treatment, and the vehicle was towed.
An injury accident at 5625 10th St. was reported at 9:05 a.m. Sunday, after vehicles driven by Sindy Shepherd and Blain Phillips collided.
