Great Bend Fire/EMS
Firefighters made eight ambulance runs on Monday. There were two fire calls.
At 1:03 p.m. they responded to 2400 10th for the smell of something burning. As they entered the store they could smell what seemed like burning wires but did not see any smoke. The found a motor on the pop cooler running hot.  
At 1:29 p.m. firefighters responded to the Barton County Landfill, 350 NE 30 Road, for trash burning at the back of a trash truck. Chief Mike Napolitano said the driver had dumped his truck and upon arrival units found a pile of trash on the ground burning. The fire was extinguished with the assistance of the landfill personnel.

Great Bend Police
A vehicle driven by Juan Castaneda hit a parked vehicle at 2521 Walnut Dr. at 3:06 p.m. Saturday.
A vehicle driven by Krystal Coleman was traveling south in the 1500 block of Harrison St. at 3:18 p.m. and rear-ended a vehicle driven by Randy Stude.
An unknown motorist hit a stop sign on Third St.
At 9:26 p.m. Saturday, a man in a white pickup got $50 in fuel from 2716 10th St. and did not pay.
Theft of a portable stop sign on Broadway Ave. was reported Sunday morning.
Vehicles driven by Shawna Barry and Heather Helvie collided at 1:53 p.m. Sunday on Lakin Ave.
Fuel was stolen from two City vehicles at 2005 Kansas Ave.
Theft of college books from 2611 27th Apt. 33 was reported Monday.
A vehicle was damaged at 1411 Truman St.
Vehicles driven by Mandy Turner and Laree Hinman collided at 5:12 p.m. Monday in the 2300 block of Main St.
A $31 gas skip was reported at 7 p.m. at 1315 10th St. The suspect vehicle was a white Nissan.
After police responded to a domestic case at 3:49 a.m. Tuesday in the 5800 block of 16th Terrace, a male was arrested for criminal threat and battery domestic violence, and a female was arrested for aggravated battery.

Barton County Sheriff
On Friday, the Barton County Sheriff’s Office received a report of 15 different locations where signs had been vandalized.
A vehicle hit a telephone pole on South Washington Ave. and SW 70 Road.
A pickup slid off 10th St. at Main in Great Bend at 9:06 p.m. Friday.
A car went in the ditch on K-96 and NW 70 Ave. at 11:15 p.m.
At 7:12 a.m. Saturday, BCSO received a report of a car on its side in the trees on SW 50 Ave. near NW 50 Road, with someone inside. Tim Siebert was taken to Great Bend Regional Hospital with undetermined injuries that included a possible broken rib.
A vehicle with a lot of damage was pulled from a ditch Saturday morning on NE 10 Road near NE 90 Ave.
A vehicle went in the ditch at 7:49 a.m. Saturday in the 400 block of North Washington Ave.
At 8:05 a.m. Sunday, a motorist reported sliding off NW 150 Road near NW 50 Ave. and hitting a fence.

A mailbox at 464 NE 20 Ave. was damaged over the noon hour on Monday.
A theft of two brass valves from a tank battery at NE 150 Road and NE 30 Ave. was reported Monday.
