Great Bend Fire/EMS
A fire was extinguished at 11:11 a.m. Friday at 1201 Morphy St. after a heat lamp in the dog house caught fire. The fire extended to the garage and damage was estimated at $2,000. The residence is owned by Jennifer and George Rojas and occupied by Raquel Gonzales.
At 1:26 p.m. Sunday, units responded to a fire along the river west of Main Street, and at 6:12 p.m. they responded to 4 SW 80 Ave. for an unauthorized burn.
Firefighters made nine ambulance runs Friday, four Saturday and four Sunday.

Great Bend Police
An RCA tablet computer which was reported stolen last week was found Friday morning in a trash can at 1200 Kansas Ave. The victim later reported recovering a laptop computer that was taken at the same time.
An identity theft case was taken after someone used a person’s Social Security number to get a loan.
A vehicle driven by Esther Thul was westbound on Broadway at 12:35 p.m. Friday and struck pedestrian Cindy Batman.
A vehicle driven by Jared Roberson was westbound on Broadway at 5:26 p.m. and struck a vehicle driven by Angel Aranda, which was stopped in traffic, which struck a vehicle driven by Bobbie Milford.
Theft of motor fuel was reported at 9:46 p.m. at 1315 10th St. Loss was $48.11.
A female reportedly stole two candy bars, Saturday afternoon at 1221 10th St.
A fence was damaged at 1439 16th St.
A 28-year-old male was stopped at 9:20 p.m. Saturday on 10th St. for allegedly driving without tail lights. He fled from the vehicle on foot and was not found. The vehicle was impounded.
A different male was arrested at 10:10 p.m. in the 1400 block of Park Ave. for a Barton County warrant for obstruction due to his running from police.
At 1:52 a.m. Sunday, a battery which allegedly occurred at the Diversion Dam was reported.
At 2:21 a.m., an individual reported being battered by a subject at Maggie’s bar, 1318 Kansas Ave.
At 3:39 a.m. Sunday, an officer went to 2525 Sixth St. to located the 28-year-old male who allegedly fled on foot after a traffic stop Saturday night. He left the residence by breaking through a bedroom window and fleeing on foot again.
Someone keyed a vehicle in the Walmart parking lot.
Police checked the 5200 block of Seventh St. at 1:15 p.m. Sunday after a report of someone shooting in the area, but found nothing.
An aggravated assault was reported at 5:13 p.m. Sunday after a known person allegedly came to the victim’s residence on Third St. with a knife, but the victim did not want to prosecute.
A burglary was reported Sunday at 516 Odell St. Someone broke into the residence and took items.
A vehicle driven by Uber Peregrino hit a parked vehicle at 10:36 p.m. Sunday in the 2400 block of Forest Ave. Peregrino was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.
