Driver captured after pursuit
Cory A. Little, Great Bend, was arrested early Tuesday following a pursuit that started at NW 20 Ave. and NW 70 Road, and ended in the 3000 block of Broadway Ave. in Great Bend. The incident occurred around 3:20 a.m. when a deputy attempted to stop the vehicle. The driver reportedly ran stop signs and avoided tire spikes and was traveling 60 mph in town until it went into a ditch at 18th and Jackson. Little ran on foot and was caught by a Great Bend Police officer on Broadway at 3:33 a.m.

Barton County Sheriff
A Ford Focus driven by Karly J. Samora, 29, Great Bend, hit the back of a semitrailer driven by Bajram Kasami, 29, Bolinbrook, Ill., at 10:35 a.m. Tuesday on U.S. 281. No one was injured. The Freightliner was getting up to speed after coming from Kansas Brick and Tile when the Focus approached from the rear and struck the left rear corner of the trailer.
A gun safe that had been cut into was found on a lease road Monday morning. It was located in the 1100 block of SE 10 Road.
A garage at 244 SE 10 Road was burglarized a week ago, and on Monday the property owner reporter checks were taken and have been forged.
A vehicle hit a deer five miles south of Great Bend on U.S. 281 at 7 p.m. Monday.
A Dodge Ram truck hit a deer on the Camp Aldridge road at 10:56 p.m. Monday.
A vehicle in the roadway at NW 40 Ave. and NW 90 Road at 2:52 a.m. Tuesday was towed.

Great Bend Police
A hit-and-run vehicle hit a vehicle at 2920 10th St., it was reported Monday.
A vehicle was turning into the parking lot at 1221 10th St. and struck a vehicle driven by Galdious Garcia as Garcia was pulling out of the parking lot at 2:46 p.m. Monday. The other driver then left the area.
A vehicle driven by Heidy Newsome was northbound on Holland at 4:01 p.m. and collided with a vehicle driven by Scott Delgadillo, who was southbound on Holland.
Someone entered a garage at 1219 Jackson St. on Dec. 24, 2012, and took a pitchfork, it was reported Monday. Loss was $75.

Great Bend Fire Department
Firefighters made seven ambulance runs Monday. There were no fires.
