Great Bend Fire/EMS
Firefighters made six ambulance runs on Friday, four on Saturday and six on Sunday. There were two fire calls. At 9:34 p.m. on Friday, units responded to 24th and Morton for a vehicle smoking. Upon arrival units found a vehicle that had an oil leak that caused the smoke. There was no fire. At 5:05 a.m. Saturday morning, units responded to Dillons located at 1811 Main for a possible fire. Upon arrival the store was being evacuated. Units found an air handler in the storage area was smoking. On investigation it appears the air handler drive belt had malfunctioned and started to smoke. The occupants were allowed in the building after the air handler was shut down.

A non-injury accident was reported in the 1200 Block of NE 80 Ave in Claflin.
A non-injury accident was reported at K-4 and mile marker 126.
A non-injury accident was reported at NE 30 Road and NE 5 Ave. Minor damage reported.
Jan. 23
A non-injury accident was reported at NE 10 Ave. and NE 30 road. Non-injury roll over accident. All parties refused EMS treatment.
Jan. 24
A non-injury accident was reported in the 300 Block of N U.S. 281.
Theft of a motor vehicle was reported at 340 NE 20 Ave. in Hoisington. The vehicle was recovered later that day.
