Great Bend Fire/EMS
Firefighters made six ambulance runs on Monday. There was one fire call. At 8:37 a.m. units responded to 4810 Quail Creek for a report of the smell of something hot. The smell was like a hot motor or electrical wiring. The house was checked and no signs of visible smoke or excessive heat. However units found that the furnace would not turn on. The owner called an electrician and heating and air person were contacted to help locate the problem

Great Bend Police
Criminal damage was reported at the dyke. A fence was damaged.
Theft was reported at McKinley and 2nd Street. Items were stolen from a shed.
Theft was reported at 1217 Williams St. A 60 day tag was stolen.
An injury accident was reported at Lakin Avenue and Morphy Street.
Theft was reported at 1101 Kansas Ave. Medication was stolen.
Theft was reported at 2527 Zarah Drive. Christmas decorations were stolen.

Barton County Sheriff
A non-injury accident was reported at K-4 and NE 100 Ave. in Claflin. A vehicle hit a deer.
