Great Bend Fire/EMS
Firefighters made seven ambulance runs Wednesday. At 3:12 p.m. they responded with a brush truck to assist the Ellinwood Fire Department at SE 70 Ave. and SE 70 Road.

Great Bend Police
Someone damaged the screen on a Rexbox vending machine at 3910 10th St., it was reported Wednesday. Loss was $700.

Barton County Sheriff
A Chevy Monte Carlo driven by Carrie M. Romo, 28, Great Bend, was southbound in the 100 block of South U.S. 281 at 10:39 a.m. Wednesday and rear-ended a Dodge Ram 2500 driven by Adam J. Stremel, 32, Great Bend, who was stopped waiting to turn left. Romo was transported to Great Bend Regional Hospital with injuries that were not life threatening. Stremel was not injured.
