Great Bend Fire/EMS
Firefighters made nine ambulance runs Tuesday and 15 Wednesday.
At 11:43 a.m. Tuesday, a smoke detector activated in the 600 block of SW 20 Ave.; it was a false alarm triggered by burned food. There was also a false alarm at 9:49 p.m. when someone saw smoke in the 400 block of Almond St.; it was coming from a barbecue.
At 1:06 p.m. Wednesday, a resident at 910 Baker Ave. reported a gas smell. Gas and electricity were shut off and the house was vented. The gas company was contacted.

Great Bend Police
Keys were stolen from a vehicle at 2554 McBride Parkway, it was reported Wednesday.
As gas skip was reported at 4:50 p.m. at Casey’s General Store, 1315 10th St.
A vehicle driven by Tom Burns was southbound in the 3200 block of Main St. at 4:55 p.m. when the stock trailer came loose and struck a duplex and a parked vehicle.
Vehicles driven by Paul Schliowsky and Jolene Kirmer collided at 8:13 p.m. on 10th St.

Barton County Sheriff
An injury accident was reported at 1:55 p.m. Wednesday on Ave. U near Lorraine and K-4. The call was transferred to Ellsworth County.
