Firefighters made five ambulance runs Monday.
At 2:24 a.m. Tuesday, firefighters responded to Applebee’s, where there was an electrical short in a kitchen wall outlet. The staff had been cleaning and thought they may have gotten the outlet wet.
At 11:49 a.m. Monday a smoke detector was activated on K-96. No fire was found.
Barton County Sheriff
A burglary at 1056 SE 20 Road was reported Monday. Someone entered the residence and stole $2,200 in cash.
Burglary and criminal damage at NE 70 Ave. and NW 30 Road were reported.
Deputies responded to NE 110 Ave. and NE K-156 at 8:40 p.m. Monday, after receiving a report that a male had slashed a female’s tire during an argument. There was damage to a valve stem on the right rear tire.

Shoplifting at 2334 Main was reported Monday.
A vehicle driven by Gergerta Dewald hit a pole in the parking lot at 3503 10th St. at 2:38 p.m. Monday, and was towed.
A theft case was taken after an unknown person allegedly wrote checks on a closed account.
A vehicle driven by Masen Torres struck the back of a vehicle driven by Brad Patzner at 5:30 p.m. while Patzner was stopped in traffic on 19th St., waiting to turn.
