Great Bend Fire/EMS
Firefighters made six ambulance runs Wednesday.
At 5:58 p.m. units responded to NE 30 Ave. and NE 40 Road for a report of a four-wheeler on fire in the center of the road. The owner said that he and his son were riding the ATV when they noticed the fire in the engine area. Although the fire was quickly extinguished, the vehicle was a total loss.
At 9:43 p.m. units responded to 1620 Broadway Ave. for a gas leak. They could smell and hear the natural gas leaking before it was shut off. Investigation showed the meter in the alley had been backed into. The gas company was notified and responded to the scene. Great Bend Police Department investigated it as a hit-and-run accident.

Barton County Sheriff
An officer arrested Allyssia M. Jackson around 7:30 a.m. Wednesday at 2807 Gano St. for a Saline County warrant for failure to appear. That arrest led to a second arrest, on a charge of possession of methamphetamine. She was booked into the Barton County Jail and released after posting bond.
A non-injury accident was reported at 3:44 p.m. at “Harrison Street.”
