Great Bend Fire/EMS
Firefighters made eight ambulance runs Friday, five Saturday and three Sunday.
At 3:12 p.m. Friday they responded to Great Bend Regional hospital for an alarm. They found some water pipes that were part of the fire sprinkler system had frozen and split open, causing the alarm to activate.

A cruelty to animals case was taken Friday morning when a dog was found with no food or shelter in the 1600 block of Third Street.
Vehicles driven by Justin Love and Dale Shaner collided at 12:41 p.m. Friday at 20th and Jefferson.
A vehicle driven by Lynn Howell collided with a limestone post at 1:20 p.m. on Paseo Drive.
A hit-and-run vehicle backed into a parked vehicle at 1217 Williams St.
Vehicles driven by Cheryl Muth and Jamie Rose collided at 3:31 p.m. on Navajo.
Vehicles driven by Alec Witt and Jean Aycock collided at 6:32 p.m. at 23rd and Van Buren.
A resident at 1011 Holland St. found a push mower in his front yard Friday night. It was booked in as “found property.”
A citation was issued at 1:21 a.m. Saturday to an individual with an open beer on the sidewalk in the 1300 block of Kansas Ave.
A hit-and-run vehicle struck a limestone post at 2400 Cheyenne Drive.
A foil pipe was found in the 1600 block of Morton Street and booked into evidence.
A hit-and-run vehicle struck a vehicle parked in the Great Bend Plaza, 3511 10th S., Saturday afternoon.
A poker case containing drug paraphernalia was found Saturday evening in the 1200 block of Van Buren. It was collected and placed into evidence.
Someone broke the windshield on a vehicle at 1900 Hubbard St.

Barton County Sheriff
A laptop computer that was reported stolen from Barton Community College was returned to the classroom it was taken from on Friday.
Vehicles hit deer at 6:25 p.m. Friday on north U.S. 281 and NE 50 Road; 4:48 p.m. Saturday on NW 70 Ave. and NW 150 Road; 6:17 p.m. Saturday in the 500 block of north U.S. 281, three miles north of Great Bend; and 5:27 a.m. Sunday in the 300 block of east U.S. 56.
