Great Bend Fire/EMS
Firefighters made four Emergency Medical Service calls Tuesday and six Wednesday.
On Tuesday they checked on sparking wires at 17th and Polk St.
At 3:14 p.m. Wednesday, they responded to a fire at 5220 24th St. The fire was started accidentally by someone working with an acetylene tank. There was some damage to the interior of the building.
At 9:08 p.m. Wednesday they checked a smoke smell in a building at 5301 9th St. It was from a fireplace.

Great Bend Police
A pickup window at 2200 32nd Pl. was damaged, it was reported Wednesday.
An injury accident occurred at 11:14 a.m. Vehicles driven by Robert Olivier and Velma Conway collided at 24th and Main. The Conway vehicle rolled and Conway was transported to Great Bend Regional Hospital, where she was treated and released.
A burglary was reported at 1013 Jefferson St. Someone entered the house and took 40 hydrocodone pills.
Someone cut down some small trees in the yard at 1401 2nd St.
Dog tags were stolen from a vehicle at 2006 Main.

Barton County Sheriff
A vehicle hit a deer on East K-4 and NE 150 Ave. at 7:35 a.m. Wednesday, and a pickup hit one on West K-4 and NW 110 Ave. at 7:46 a.m.
A Toyota Rav 4 hit a deer on K-96 and NW 30 Road at 4:29 p.m., and another vehicle hit a deer at 5:52 p.m.
A mini van hit a deer on SE 20 Road and SE 105 Ave. at 6:16 p.m.
