Great Bend Fire/EMS
Firefighters made three ambulance runs Wednesday and six Thursday.
At 11 p.m. Wednesday units responded to 274 N. Washington for a small fire in a barrel that was smoldering.
At 2:38 p.m. Thursday units responded to 2511 11th St. for a possible gas leak. The gas company assisted and found the water heater to be the source.

Great Bend Police
A burglary was reported Thursday at the Best Western Angus Inn, 2920 10th St. Hand tools were taken from the building.
Four cases of unlawful use of a credit card were reported.
Four bikes were found at 1033 1/2 Adams St. and they were booked in as “found property.”
Theft of a 2002 Ford F-150 pickup and about $5,000 in cash was reported at 1424 Park Ave.
A woman was arrested on 10th St. at 10:14 p.m. for alleged possession of methamphetamine.

Barton County Sheriff
On Thursday morning, an employer reported his employee hit a deer around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday on East K-4 and NE 110 Ave., 2 miles east of Claflin.
A dirt bike was found on the side of the road at 9:33 a.m. Thursday in the 1000 block of Park Ave.
A Barton County resident reported stolen checks on an account closed three years ago were being forged.
A burglary in progress was reported at 1:31 p.m. at 614 Patton Road, rural Great Bend. The caller saw suspects loading pipe onto a vehicle, which he described. Acme Scrap Inc. contacted officers at 1:54 p.m. when the vehicle was on the scale. Two suspects were arrested.
A Great Bend resident reported a neighbor in her apartment building has been exposing himself.
