Great Bend Fire/EMS

Emergency Medical Service made eight ambulance runs Wednesday and three more were canceled while responders were en route.


Barton County Sheriff

A non-injury crash was reported at 6:25 a.m. Wednesday in the 1000 block of NW K-96, Albert.

Great Bend Police and BCSO officers responded to a reported narcotics violation at 8:22 a.m. at Casey’s General Store, 2716 10th St. The Sheriff’s Office K-9 was called out. Criminal damage to property was reported at 36 Kiowa Road, Great Bend.

A theft was reported Wednesday night at an unknown location in Hoisington.


Great Bend Police

A “burglary in progress” reported at 4:13 a.m. Wednesday in the 2200 block of 25th Street turned out to be a subject working on the house.

Someone damaged the door on a residence at 1611 Park Ave.

A pillow was reportedly stolen from Great Bend Appliance, 2301 10th St.

Theft of a generator was reported at 711 Kansas Ave.

Shon Rome, Great Bend, was arrested shortly after 7 p.m. at the Great Bend Public Library. According to the Barton County Jail log, Rome had an outstanding warrant for failure to appear in Rush County and his bond was set at $508 cash only.

A theft was reported at Cerv’s convenience store, 1000 Main, Great Bend.
