Police conclude kidnapping report was not credible
GBPD-patch-2016

The Great Bend Police Department responded to a report of a kidnapping at 5 a.m. Saturday at Walmart. Police Chief David Bailey said the report was investigated and determined not to be credible.

The investigation started after someone in Wichita called the GBPD and reported that a woman on social media was claiming she was being chased and was hiding in a restroom at the store. Police checked store videos and were able to identify the woman, who eventually left the store with a phone in her hand. There was additional investigation but at this time authorities believe that no one was in danger.
