Great Bend Fire

Firefighters were called to 811 Grant St. at 11:42 p.m. Thursday, April 15, for a cooking fire. The resident of the apartment had turned on a stove burner that malfunctioned, with smoke and flames showing. It was out before firefighters arrived; there was light smoke in the apartment but no visible damage and the resident was advised to have the burner checked.

A fire was reported at 1:24 a.m. Saturday at 51 Se 20 Road, Great Bend.

There was a false alarm at 5:14 a.m. Saturday when an individual at 3616 17th St. awoke to the smell of smoke. No smoke or flames were found but the furnace was turned off to be checked.

A reporting party said a tire/wheel was on fire on her vehicle at 206 Fruit St. at 10:10 a.m. Saturday. The fire was out when firefighters arrived. Brake trouble was suspected.


Great Bend Police

A burglary/theft was reported Friday morning at 1425 1/2 Broadway Ave.

A vehicle at Super 8, 911 Grant St., was broken into overnight, it was reported Friday.

An individual at the University of Kansas Health System - St. Rose Friday afternoon reported being battered by a known person.

A narcotics search warrant was executed at 2:14 p.m. Friday at 1308 Monroe St. Tucker Trevino, Kaden Fowler and a juvenile were arrested.

A non-injury crash was reported at 3:26 p.m. Friday at 10th and Williams.

A burglary with theft of items from a vehicle at 1424 Park Ave. was reported Friday evening.

Trisha Buresh reportedly battered a roommate Friday evening at 23rd and San Domingo St. She was arrested and booked for domestic battery. Buresh was released on her own recognizance after being held for 48 hours.

Theft of a cellphone was reported at 10:43 p.m. Friday at Up N Rollin’ Skate Center, 4805 10th St.

An attempted fraud was reported at 7:39 a.m. Saturday when an unknown person called McDonald’s restaurant claiming to be a manager and asking for money. No money was sent.

A domestic battery by a known person was reported at 7:26 p.m. Saturday at Cross Roads Apts., 2600 Adams St. 3. A notice to appear in municipal court was signed.

Police responded to a reported burglary in progress at 10:04 a.m. Sunday when two subjects were seen possibly breaking into a vehicle at Cross Roads Apartments, 2600 Adams St. The subject were contacted.

A subject reportedly fired a gun into Macarthur Lake, 600 Macarthur Road, at 1:24 p.m. Sunday. The subject left prior to the officer's arrival.

A theft was reported Friday at 1392 Kinzel St. in Odin.

A fraud was reported at 626 B West U.S. 281, Pawnee Rock.

A K-9 unit was dispatched to the 500 block of NE 30 Road, Great Bend, at 3:40 a.m. Saturday.
