Great Bend Fire/EMS

Emergency Medical Services made eight ambulance runs on Friday, Jan. 13, five on Saturday and 10 on Sunday.

Around 5 p.m. Friday, firefighters responded to a fire at 545 NW K-96. The fire was contained to the chimney.

At 9:54 a.m. Sunday, Walgreen’s staff reported a natural gas odor in the men’s restroom at the store, 3920 10th St. The store was evacuated. No hazard was detected but Kansas Gas was notified and responded.


Great Bend Police

On Friday, an individual in the 1000 block of Adams Street reported multiple cases of criminal use of a financial card.

An individual in the 3200 block of Forest Avenue spoke with an officer in reference to a scam.

On Saturday, an individual in the 2200 block of 28th St. reported credit cards being taken out in his name without permission.

At 12:45 p.m. Sunday, a woman reported being battered by her son at 1911 Monroe St. Michael Burress was arrested and booked in the jail. He was released after posting bond.

A non-injury crash was reported at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at Autozone, 2219 10th St.


Barton County Sheriff

A theft was reported at 11:17 a.m. Friday at an undisclosed location in Barton County.

A fire was reported at 2:23 p.m. Saturday at NE 90 Ave. and NE 160 Road, Claflin.

A prisoner at the jail was transported to Clara Barton Hospital in Hoisington at 11:37 p.m. Saturday.

An injury crash was reported at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at Kansas Brick and Tile, 767 N. U.S. 281, Hoisington.

An injury crash was reported at 5:34 p.m. Sunday at NE 70 Road and NE 10 Ave., Hoisington.
