Great Bend Fire 

A fire in a fire pit in the 100 block of SE 30 Ave., Great Bend, was extinguished at 8:39 p.m. Friday because of the wind speed.

A detector malfunction was responsible for a false alarm at 8:40 a.m. Sunday in the 200 block of Cardinal Lane, Great Bend. 

A fire in an unapproved pit was reported at 9:56 p.m. Sunday in the 2500 block of 5th St., Great Bend. It was extinguished.


Great Bend Police

A known person reportedly entered a residence at 1401 9th St. without permission at 1:17 a.m. Friday and damaged a door.

Theft or loss of a wallet at Casey’s General Store, 2716 10th St., was reported Friday.

Loss of an iPhone at Mr. Burger, 1100 10th St., was reported Friday.

Theft of mail from 1220 Jackson St. was reported Friday. Property was recovered and a case was taken.

A two-vehicle crash with no injuries was reported at 5:46 p.m. Saturday in the 3300 block of 17th St.

An aggravated burglary in progress was reported at 1:01 a.m. Sunday at 2525 9th St.

Criminal damage to property was reported at 1:51 a.m. at 327 Frey St.

A hit-and-run crash was reported at 2:32 a.m. at 4th and Locust.

A battery was reported at 11:17 p.m. Sunday at McDonald's, 3307 10th St.


Barton County Sheriff

A non-injury crash was reported at 7:26 a.m. Friday at SE 80 Ave. and West U.S. 56, Great Bend.

A battery was reported at 10:16 p.m. at 417 SW 10 Ave., Great Bend.

A non-injury crash was reported at 11:49 a.m. Saturday on West U.S. 56 and mile marker 198.7, Great Bend.

A possible fire was reported at 3:21 p.m. Sunday at NW 80 Ave. and NW 190 Road, Galatia.
