Barton County Sheriff

Non-injury crashes were reported Thursday at 1:32 p.m. in the 100 block of NE 10 Road, at 7:44 p.m. at SE 70 Road and S. U.S. 281 and at 8:16 p.m. at NE 10 Ave. and NE 30 Road.

Non-injury crashes were reported Friday at 10:40 a.m. at NE 60 Road and N. U.S. 281, at 3:21 p.m. at NE 120 Ave. and NE 90 Road and at 10:11 p.m. in the 200 block of SE 100 Ave., Ellinwood.

A burglary in progress was reported 12:32 a.m. Sunday at 514 S. Humbolt Ave., Ellinwood.

Non-injury crashes reported Sunday at 3:11 a.m. at Northview Nursery, 172 N. U.S. 281, Great Bend, and at 8:35 p.m. at SE 105 Ave. and SE 20 Road, Ellinwood.


Great Bend Fire/EMS

Great Bend Fire Department responded to a grass fire at 1:11 p.m. Friday at 353 NE 30 Ave., and to a controlled burn that got out of control. On Saturday, there was a ditch fire at 5:03 p.m. in the 400 block of North U.S. 281.

Emergency Medical Service responded to five ambulance calls on Friday, four on Saturday and seven on Sunday. EMS was on standby Saturday at the drag races.


Great Bend Police

An injury crash was reported at 11:55 a.m. Thursday at Forest and McKinley. It was later reported as a non-injury crash.

A Great Bend resident reported being a victim of fraud; an identity theft case was taken.

A burglary was reported at 1514 Adams St. Someone damaged the door to the residence.

A window was broken on a pickup at 300 Firethorn St., it was reportedly Friday.

A burglary was reported at 201 Holland St. A girl’s bike was taken.

A hit-and-run crash was reported in the 5700 block of Aspen Drive.

A non-injury crash was reported at 5:42 p.m. at the VFW, 504 Washington.

Criminal damage to property/theft of services was reported at 1017 Roxanne Dr.

Money and a cellphone were reportedly stolen from a residence at 2201 Madison St.

A non-injury crash was reported at 10:35 a.m. Saturday at Cherry Lane and Eisenhower Ave.

A hit-and-run crash was reported at Applebee’s, 3209 10th St.

A sex offense was reported Sunday.

Police were dispatched to the 1300 block of 4th Street at 3:49 a.m. Monday after receiving a report of subjects fighting in the area. A battery case was taken.
