Two Great Bend men were taken to Clara Barton Hospital in Hoisington with what were believed to be minor injuries, early Wednesday morning after a semitrailer crashed in the 1000 block of NW 40 Ave.
The Barton County Sheriff’s Office responded to that location at 3:30 a.m. to find a 2018 Peterbilt tractor on its side in the west ditch. The trailer, which was loaded with distiller’s grain, was also overturned.
According to the sheriff’s office, the vehicle was southbound on NW 40 Ave. when the driver, 28-year-old Garrett Knorr of Great Bend, lost control and the vehicle entered the ditch, where it rolled over onto its side and came to rest. Jaxton Fry, 18, also of Great Bend, was a passenger in the truck.
Both men were transported to the hospital by Hoisington EMS.
