ST. JOHN — An Iuka man was taken to Pratt Regional Medical Center on Wednesday after the pickup he was driving rear-ended an International truck on U.S. 281, 1 mile north of St. John. The other driver was taken to the Stafford hospital.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, the 1981 International was southbound on U.S. 281 after turning from a private drive at 7:26 p.m. and the pickup rear-ended the truck. The driver of the 2015 Ford F-350 was David Thompson, 60, of Iuka and it was suspected that he sustained serious injuries. The other driver was Leon L. Dunn, 77, of St. John, and it was suspected that he sustained minor injuries.
Thompson was wearing a seat belt; Dunn was not.
