Teen injured in single vehicle rollover Friday night

A 16-year old Great Bend teen was transported to University of Kansas Health System - Great Bend Campus with unspecified injuries following a single-vehicle rollover crash in Great Bend Friday night.

According to a Barton County Sheriff’s Office report, Daylan Sherwood, 16, was westbound in the 5100 block of Oil Center Road South at around 11:24 p.m. Friday when he lost control of the 1998 Pontiac Grand Am he was driving. The vehicle’s tail end started to spin toward the north, and the vehicle started toward the ditch with its right side moving forward. The car then entered the ditch and struck the side of the ditch. The vehicle flipped over on its right side, coming to rest on its roof. 

Sherwood was not trapped in the vehicle, and was transported to the hospital by Great Bend Fire and EMS personnel. The Kansas Highway Patrol also responded to the crash
