A 21-year old Great Bend woman and two juveniles were arrested on drug possession charges following a traffic stop in Ellinwood Monday.
According to Ellinwood Police officials, at approximately 10:20 p.m. Monday, an EPD office conducted a traffic stop on a 1997 Honda Civic for a traffic violation. During the course of the stop, the officer suspected illegal activity and requested a Barton County Sheriff’s Office K9 unit to respond. The K9 was deployed to do a sniff around the vehicle and alerted to the odor of illegal narcotics. The EPD officer then searched the vehicle where methamphetamine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia were located.
Reina Zendejas, age 21, of Great Bend, and two juveniles, one 17 year old female, and one 17 year old male, were arrested at the scene. Zendejas was transported to the Barton County Jail where she was booked in on narcotic charges. One of the juveniles was released to juvenile Intake, the other juvenile was transported to Bob Johnson Detention Center in Hutchinson.
