Three die in Pratt County collision

The driver of a car and her two juvenile passengers died Tuesday morning when the westbound vehicle rear-ended a semi-trailer stopped at a construction zone in Pratt County. According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at 10:35 a.m. on Aug. 8 on U.S. 54, 0.2 miles west of SW 19th Avenue.

The 2021 Nissan Kicks was driven by Lilia Jasmin Barajas, 32, of Wichita, who was pronounced dead at the scene. KHP reported she was not wearing a seat belt. Information about the two juveniles is protected data and not available.

The other vehicle was a 2014 Peterbilt tractor towing a trailer and was driven by Pedro Guilloty-Rodriguez, 38, from Haines City, Florida. He was wearing a seat belt and had no apparent injury.
