Two Russell motorists injured in head-on collision

Two Russell residents were injured in a head-on collision at 5:13 p.m. Tuesday in Russell County. The Kansas Highway Patrol reports suspected serious injuries.

The crash occurred in the 18200 block of Old Hwy 40, or 2.5 miles west of U.S. 281. A 2002 Mercury Sable driven by Cynthia L. Pitcock, 73, was eastbound and crossed the center line into the westbound lane. The car collided with a 2017 Chevy Traverse driven by Morgan M. Raymer, 29. Both drivers were wearing safety restraints.

Both were transported to Russell Regional Hospital.
