Vehicle vs. Deer reports

The Barton County Sheriff’s Office received several reports  recently of vehicles hitting deer on county roads.
A car hit a deer sometime Thursday night in the 300 block of SE 80 Ave., the driver’s father reported Friday morning.
Another car hit a deer at 5:25 p.m. Friday in the 200 block of NW 100 Road.
At 1:21 a.m. Saturday, a motorist reported hitting a deer in the area of NE 90 Road and NW 130 Ave.
A Dodge pickup pulling a trailer hit a deer on K-96 and NW 120 Ave. at 6:39 a.m. Saturday.
A dead deer in the middle of U.S. 56 between 70th and 60th Ave. in Pawnee County was impeding traffic at 6:26 a.m. Sunday. Some motorists were hitting the carcass and others were swerving in front of oncoming traffic to avoid it.
