CNN reported on Thursday that top aides within Donald Trumps campaign wanted to see the former Massachusetts governor apologize for the harsh words he made against Trump during the 2016 presidential election.
Trump raised the idea after an ongoing back-and-forth between Trumps campaign managers, like Kellyanne Conway, and Romney. Trump wanted a public apology from Romney, sources told CNN.
But the apology never came.
Trump personally saw it in business deal terms: He would get the mea culpa he sought from Romney; Romney would get the job he covets. But Romney who titled his own book No Apology declined, according to CNN.
