Chip and Joanna Gaines provided a little relief to Houston this week.

The couple, who star on HGTVs Fixer Upper, traveled to Doris Davis home in Houston to help her repair the damage she suffered when Hurricane Harvey hit back in August.

Davis, 81, found her home under 2 feet of water after the storm.

The Gaineses spoke with KHOU-11, a Houston news station, about the decision to help those in the Texas city.

Full speed ahead. Man, we pulled into town and these boys said 'Hey, lets go to work,' " Chip Gaines told KHOU-11. I said, 'Great youre speaking my language.' Now, Jo on the other hand, she got her nails done this morning.

The couple expect the project to take four weeks.

Davis said she couldnt believe the work that was done, adding that she wasnt expecting this.

The Gaineses, who will end their hit HGTV show after the fifth season, are working with Rebuilding Together Houston and Exxon-Mobil volunteers, according to USA Today.

You have to help everybody get on their feet. Because youre only as good as the weakest link in the community and thats what were about, said Bryan Milton, president of Fuels and Lubricants for Exxon-Mobil, to USA Today.

Chip Gaines said he sees an optimistic future for Houston.

Houston is going to be better than ever, Gaines told KHOU. You know, its just going to take a lot of effort and a lot of hard work and I just dont want people to forget about whats happened here.
