CINEMAVILLE Stefan Fraticelli has worked on some of the biggest movies and TV shows of our time, and even if you've never heard his name, you've probably heard his work.
Fraticelli is what's known as a Foley artist, meaning he creates the sound effects behind some of the most interesting and important moments in film. In this video, Fraticelli gives us a brief look into what his days look like and the somewhat surprising and unusual ways he creates common sounds.
The video is fascinating, educational and just a little bit gross. Who knew breaking several stalks of celery results in a sound almost identical to bones breaking? Or that dumping soup in a toilet is the way vomit sound effects are created?
Apparently, Fraticelli spends up to a full month creating the sound effects for one movie. And though it can't be an easy job, it definitely looks like Fraticelli has some fun with it.
Enjoy the video, and next time you're watching "Jane the Virgin," "Parks and Recreation," "500 Days of Summer" or several others, keep your ear tuned for Fraticelli's sound effects.
