"America's Got Talent" judge Mel B made the first golden buzzer selection of season 11 last week after 13-year-old opera singer Laura Bretan wowed the audience.
My mom always liked to sing, Laura said nervously to the judges before her performance. She saw that I liked it too, so she helped me practice and pick out the songs, and here I am.
Laura, originally from Romania, brought some audience members to tears and received nothing but positive feedback from the judges.
I have never heard anything like that in all the years Ive been doing this show. It was unbelievable, said Simon Cowell, a judge and executive producer of "Americas Got Talent."
Mel B told Laura that the show was going to completely change her life as she pushed the golden buzzer, sending Laura straight to the live portion of the competition.
A YouTube video of Laura's performance has been viewed more than 8 million times since it was posted May 31.
