Competing against children twice his age, 6-year-old Akash Vukoti was eliminated Wednesday from the 2016 Scripps National Spelling Bee when he misspelled bacteriolytic in the third round, but there is little question that the future is bright for Akash.
According to Tech Insider, by qualifying for the spelling bee, Akash became the second-youngest child and the first-ever first-grade competitor. Tech Insider also reported that Akash began reading before his second birthday and already speaks three languages.
Akash, who is home-schooled, was featured on the Steve Harvey Show and Little Big Shots in the last year. He has been competing in spelling bees for the past four years, according to USA Today.
