The Clean Cut: New McDonalds commercial gets nostalgic about McNuggets

In the restaurants latest commercial, a side-by-side frame shows a boy from a few decades in the past, and a girl in the present day. A cover of Cyndi Laupers Time After Time plays as the boy passes various objects of his to the girl and watches her enjoy what he gave her.

As the video concludes, the children end up eating Happy Meals from different decades at McDonalds. The boy passes a McNugget into the girls frame and then slides himself in with her, transforming into her father.

You loved them then. You have more reasons to love them now, read a tweet from McDonalds Twitter account, referring to the new, all-white-meat chicken McNuggets.

The ad's release coincides with McDonald's announcement that Chicken McNuggets will no longer have artificial preservatives.

Because McDonald's is the official restaurant of the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, this commercial has aired several times during NBCs Olympics coverage.
