GREAT BEND — Adabelle Koelling, 101, passed away May 14, 2020, at her home in Great Bend. She was born on May 6, 1919, in rural Stafford County, to Elmer Lewis & Ella Francis (Rusco) Dale. She married Dean Koelling on July 7, 1940, Stafford county. 

A lifetime Stafford and Barton county resident, Adabelle was a homemaker. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Order of the Eastern Star, and a former Girl Scout leader. Adabelle was the first Homecoming Queen of Stafford High School in 1937. She enjoyed gardening and canning. She was a good neighbor and especially enjoyed being with her family.  

Survivors include, three sons, Dale Koelling and wife Maria of Kalamazoo, Mich., William “Bill” Koelling, and Wayne Koelling and wife Cheryl, all of Great Bend; a daughter, Deanna Blahut and husband Steve of Claremore, Okla.; four grandchildren, Melinda Koelling-Richter, Alexia Koelling-Ramsey, Chad Koelling, and Chuck Koelling; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dean Koelling; four brothers, Warren Dale, Murl Dale, Lewis Dale, and Dick Dale; and three sisters, Mary Glenn, Charlotte Heide, and Sadie Ruth Barber. 

Visitation will be held from 1 to 9 p.m., Sunday, May 17, 2020, at Bryant Funeral Home. Graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, May 18, 2020, at Great Bend Cemetery, with Pastor Morita Truman presiding. Memorials are suggested to Shriners Hospitals for Children or First United Methodist Church, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
