LINDSBORG — Al (Albert) T. Herrman, 86, passed away Tuesday, April 14, 2020 in Lindsborg, Kan. He was born Jan. 1, 1934 in Liebenthal, Kan. to Nicholas and Veronica (Legleiter) Herrman.
Al married Mary L. Brungardt on Sept. 8, 1956 in Hays, Kan. He served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. Al was a longtime resident of Great Bend, Kan. where he and his wife, Mary, owned and operated Al and Mary’s Hair Styling. After retirement, Al and Mary moved to Salina, Kan. and later to Lindsborg, Kan.
He was a member of St. Bridget’s of Sweden Catholic Church in Lindsborg.
Al is survived by his wife; daughter Zelma (Scot) Michels of Overland Park, Kan., grandson William (Kelsey) Michels and great-grandchildren Avery and Bryer, grandson James Michels (fiancé Rachel Sutcliffe), and grandson Robert Michels; daughter, Vickie (William) Krueger of Loxahatchee, Fla., granddaughter Veronica (Peter) Cusick and great-grandchildren Conner, Chloe, Jacob and Oliver, grandson Vincent (Johanna) Schaffer and great-granddaughter Mikaela, grandson Justin (Casey) Schaffer, grandson Douglas (Allison) Schaffer, grandson Mikal, (Emily Ann) Krueger and great-grandsons Conrad and Cullen, granddaughter Emily Rose (James) Giunta and great-grandson John Michael, and grandson James (Caitlyn Pratt) Krueger and great-granddaughter Eleanor; son Timothy (Rita) Herrman of Conroe, Texas, granddaughter Alysa (Adam) Lowry and great-grandsons Brayden and Weston, and grandson Jason (Ali) Herrman and great-grandchildren Colson and Kinslee; daughter Denise (Jeff) Dohrman of Bushton, Kan., grandson Brooks (Taryn) Dohrman and great-grandchildren Brayden, Trey and Haylie, granddaughter Darah (Ryan) Harrison and great-grandchildren Melanie, Madelyn, McKinley, Riley and Bryce, grandson Heath (Molly) Dohrman and great-granddaughters Meeghan, Collins and Emmy, and granddaughter Desa (Matt) Barlow and great-grandchildren Jett, Kannon and Blayse; daughter Michelle (Michael) Behr of Groton, Conn., granddaughter Elizabeth (Casey) Finn and great-grandsons Camden and Michael, and grandson Nathan Behr; daughter Sandra (Gary) Vogt of Littleton, Colo., granddaughter Alison (Ben) Sparks and great-grandchildren Ashley, Noah, Isabella, Nadia, Elena and Isaac, and granddaughter Rachel (Jeremiah) Gallagher and great-grandchildren Timothy, Jacob and Emily; and brother Marvin. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Chris, Elmer, Alvin, Alex, Kenneth, and Raymond Herrman; and sisters Emma Moeder, Bertha Sauber, Agnes Herrman, Edith Bollig, Elenora Moeder and Louise Herrman.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial mass will be scheduled at a later date. Parsons Funeral Home, Ellsworth is handling arrangements.
