Alan R. (Buck) Menzer 1949 - 2020


CHERRYVALE — Alan R. (Buck) Menzer 70, of Cherryvale Kan. passed away Feb. 1, 2020 at his home with family by his side. Alan R (Buck) Menzer was born Feb. 13, 1949 in Great Bend Kan. He was the son of Edwin B. (Mitch) Menzer and Helen D. (Cockrel) Menzer. He was raised in the town of Olmitz Kan. He went to high school in Otis Kan. He was a member of the armed forces during the Vietnam War. He spent his life as a mechanic in Hoisington Kan., Cherryvale Kan. and Independence Kan. 

He is survived by his wife Julia R. Lahar Menzer of the home; two sons James and Kelly; brothers David Menzer (Jolene) of Independence

Kan., Ronald Menzer (Donna) of Redwing Kan., John Menzer (Lisa) of Ellinwood Kan; Mike Menzer (Chris) of Great Bend, Kan.; sisters Yvonne West of Great Bend Ks, Anna Marie Wiley Conway Arkansas, Dorothy Goodman of

Brookland, Arkansas and Susan McClaren of Great Bend Kan.; and many many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his mother; father; and two brothers Edwin B. (Eddie) Menzer and Paul Menzer. 

Cremation has taken place and a private service will follow at a later date.
