ODIN — Alice M. Jenisch, 86, died Tuesday, Nov. 12 at her home in rural Odin. She was born March 22, 1927 in Barton County, the daughter of Joseph and Rose (Huslig) Bieberle.
A lifelong area resident, Alice, graduated from Bushton High School and attended business college at St. Joe, Mo. She worked for Schuefler Supply in Great Bend for several years and also did home health care work. She was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church and Altar Society both in Odin and enjoyed gardening, cooking, canning, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
On June 17, 1947 she married Frank Jenisch at Bushton. He preceded her in death on April 21, 2004.
Survivors include three daughters, Lois Steiner and husband Jerry of Claflin, Marilyn Brandt and husband Bill of Wichita, Carol Samsel and husband Tim of Wichita; one brother, Willis Bieberle and wife Theresa of Great Bend; two sisters, Dorothy Moeder of Ellinwood, JoAnn McGlinn of Great Bend; three sisters-in-law, Joann Bieberle of Wichita, Mary Ann Bieberle of Bushton, Mary Wondra of Claflin; and seven grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, Clarence Bieberle and Omer Bieberle.
Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday at Holy Family Catholic Church in Odin with Father Don Debes as celebrant. Burial will follow at Holy Family Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. with a vigil service followed by an Altar Society rosary beginning at 7 p.m. at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home in Hoisington. Memorials are suggested to Holy Family Cemetery Fund or Claflin Ambulance Fund in care of Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home.
