Alyce M. Draney, 80, died June 8, 2015, at her home in Great Bend. She was born April 9, 1935, at Bertrand, Nebraska, the daughter of Jesse and Madge (Stevens) Dyer. She married Ralph E. Draney Oct. 30, 1950. A Great Bend resident since 1958, she was a homemaker and an avid flower and vegetable gardener.
Survivors include her husband, of the home; two sons, Bob Draney and his wife Gail of Derby, and Ron Draney and his wife Becky of Great Bend; two daughters, Susan Detter and her husband Mike of Great Bend, and Sandra Smith and her husband Curtis of Great Bend; two brothers, Doug Dyer of Kearney, Neb., and Bruce Dyer of Aurora, Neb.; eight grandchildren, Ryan Draney, Ross Draney, Stacy Runyan, Ron Draney, Jr., Brandi Gruber, Amanda London, Jessica Beck and Emily Beck; and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Leonard Dyer, Dean Dyer and Larry Dyer; and two sisters, Beulah Stehl and infant Iona Dyer.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 11, at Bryant Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Schumacher officiating. Interment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Great Bend. Visitation will be from noon to 9 p.m., with the family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, at the funeral home. Memorial are suggested to Great Bend Children’s Learning Center or St. Rose Health Center Endowment Fund for Golden Belt Home Health and Hospice, in care of  the funeral home.
