Andrew J. Kirmer

ROGERS, Ark. — The love of my life, Andrew J. Kirmer, passed away April 13, 2022, at Mercy Hospital, Rogers, Ark., as the result of cancer surgery, pneumonia and also suffered from the effects of Parkinson’s disease. Andy was born in Odin, Kan. on Jan. 6th, 1934. Heaven has received an amazing man who never complained about anything. Through tough times he always said, “We take it as it comes and deal with it.” Andy was a shining example for his children and grandchildren and the best husband and friend I could ever ask for.

After graduating from Claflin High School in 1952 where he set several sports records, Andy did some odd jobs before deciding to join the Army from 1954 to 1956. He was able to play his favorite sport of baseball during his tour in the Army. Andy then went to Emporia State College where he also played baseball and after graduating had an opportunity to try out for a major league team. He loved all sports especially baseball, football, basketball, and golf. Andy was also very active in his children’s extracurricular activities never missing a game or event.

He was a member of the Prairie Creek Country Club for many years where he played many hours of golf with Lynette and his many friends. Before moving to Rogers in 1982 Andy lived in Colorado where he owned his real estate company with a friend. After retiring and playing lots of golf he decided to buy Highway 12 East Storage in Rogers and Andy and Lynette operated that business for 27 years before selling it in 2015.

Andy and Lynette enjoyed 45 years of marriage. He leaves behind a grieving wife (Lynette), daughter (Kimberly Kirmer Todd), son and daughter-in-law (Joshua and Jessica Kirmer), and five grandchildren (Shane, Danyael, Michael, Alexander, and Evelyn), brother (Richard Kirmer and wife Nancy), sister (Irene Carlisle), and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents (Andrew and Stephanie Kirmer), brothers (Eddie

and Ben), sister (Viola), mother and father-in-law (Mary and Lynden Louden), and brother-in-law (Vern Louden).

A memorial mass will be held, Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Rogers. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, please consider donating to your favorite charity.
