Betty Freeman 1927-2012

Betty Freeman, 84, died Aug. 31 at Cherry Village Nursing Home, Great Bend. She was born Nov. 2, 1927 at Hutchinson, the daughter of Russell C. and Thelma L. (Lehr) Eastes.
She married Ivan Stanley Freeman on Jan. 4, 1948 at Pratt, Kansas.  He survives.
She was a homemaker. Mrs. Freeman was a Great Bend resident since 1960, coming from Pratt. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Great Bend. She was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother and treasured her time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Ivan Stanley Freeman of the home; one daughter, Shelly Shelton and husband Doug of Great Bend; two sisters, Dixie Mills of Wichita and Suellen Epp of Pratt; two brothers, Jack A. Eastes of Pratt, and Bob Eastes of Pratt; two grandchildren, Jason Shelton  and wife Jenny, Wilson; Tasha DiLoreto and husband Dan, Wichita; and seven great-grandchildren, Jarod Shelton; Jena Shelton; Trista Shelton; Austin McGinnes;  McKenzie King; Lexus King and Danny DiLoreto. She was preceded in death by brother, Russell J. Eastes and sister, Wanda Reed.
The graveside service will be 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday at Great Bend Cemetery, with Rev. John Grummon officiating. Visitation if from 9 a.m.–9 p.m. Tuesday, with family receiving friends 6–8 p.m. and 9 a.m. until noon Wednesday all at Bryant Funeral Home.
