Billy Eugene Schuster, 88, passed away Nov. 15, 2017, at Woodhaven Care Center, Ellinwood. He was born March 4, 1929, at Liberal, the son of William George and Fern Evelyn (Wyer) Schuster. He married Wilma Jean Hathaway June 20, 1948, at Great Bend. She died March 11, 2017. A Great Bend resident since 1947, coming from Hutchinson, Mr. Schuster was parts manager for Taylor, Davis-Childs, Bob Reiter, Elliott, and Dove Chevrolet Dealerships.
Survivors include two sons, Stan Schuster and his wife Diana of Great Bend, and Rick Schuster and his wife Linda of Tempe, Ariz.; two daughters, Nancy Thul and her husband Mark of Great Bend, and Rita Engram and her husband Al of Chandler, Ariz.; two brothers, Carl Schuster of Phoenix, Ariz., and Ed Schuster of Bellevue, Neb.; one half-brother, Jim Culver; 10 grandchildren, Stacy Benetos, Tracy Thul, Michelle Hayes, Brian Bowman, Randy Schuster, Jenny Schuster, Matt Thul, Abbie Schuster, Brian Schartz and Erin Schartz; and 17 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Glenn Schuster and Louis Schuster; and by one half-sister, Cheryl Culver.
Graveside service will be at 2:30 p.m., Friday, Nov. 24, at Great Bend Cemetery, with Pastor Larry Schumacher. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place.
