CANTON — Carl D. Morgan, 64, former Canton businessman, died Sept. 18 in rural Ulysses. He was born March 2, 1946, in Syracuse, the son of Fred E. and Valera (Graham) Morgan. He was an auto mechanic and retired from Excel Industries in Hesston. On May 8, 1971, he married Helen Bahr at Olmitz. She preceded him in death on March 3, 1994. He married Cathy Strobel on April 29, 1995, in Great Bend, and she survives.
Other survivors include his mother Valera Morgan of Marion; two sons, Danny (Tracy) Morgan of Canton and Brian (Lacey) Morgan of McPherson; two daughters, Brenda (Mike) Kruse, Wichita, and Becky (Matt) Ryan, Canton; stepson Keith Strobel, Canton; stepdaughter Amy (Scott) McCrary, Rogers, Ark.; two brothers, Terry Morgan, Bella Vista, Ark., and Howard Morgan, Goessel; and 14 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, an infant son, Kevin, and a brother, Fred R. Morgan.
Funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Canton United Methodist Church. Interment will be in Canton Township Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday evening from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the church with the family present. Rosary will follow the visitation. A memorial has been established with the Kansas Department of Wildlife & Parks, in care of Olson’s Mortuary, Canton.
