Carol Diane Harding, age 75, of Great Bend, Kan. passed away peacefully on Sept. 27, 2022 at Ascension Via Christ St. Francis Medical Center in Wichita, Kan. surrounded by her loving family. Carol was born on Dec. 9, 1946 to Floyd and Dema (Delaney) Griffin of Fredonia and Sedgwick, Kan. She graduated from Fredonia High School at Fredonia in 1962, and was united in marriage to John Richard Harding on April 30, 1965 at Independence, Kan. The couple lived in Wichita, Fredonia, San Francisco, California, Pensacola, Florida, Long Beach California, Houston, Texas, back to Wichita, and Salina before moving to Great Bend in 1974. Carol was primarily a homemaker, but was employed at Superior Essex in Hoisington for three years, for the Great Bend Public Library in the Talking Books Program for 9 years, and for Nutrisystem for three years. She loved to cook and collecting recipe cookbooks, loved shopping, and was an avid reader of suspense novels.
Carol is survived by her husband John Richard Harding of Great Bend; two daughters, Carla King of Moberly, Mo. and Cara (and Carl) Harding of Mary Ester, Fla.; five grandchildren, Maegan (and Kimon), Bryna, Kyler, Lydia (and Jake), and Lily and one great-grandson, Milo; two sisters, Mary (and Don) Reser of Topeka and Barbara Griffin of Great Bend, Kan. She was preceded in death by her parens and her older sister, Marlene Kuntz of Wichita.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 1, 2022 at Charter Funerals in Great Bend, Kan. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to service time on Saturday at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Golden Belt Memorial Park Cemetery near Great Bend, Kan. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to your local animal shelter, military veteran organization, or other charitable organization.
