GLENMORA, La. — Champion Ray "Butch" McNett, 40, formerly of Great Bend, entered eternal rest on Friday, Sept. 24, at his Glenmora, La., residence. He was born June 17, 1970, in Salina, to the unionof Champion Fredrick McNett and Marie Alice McNett. He was a loving son, husband, father, brother, uncle, coach and friend. He was one of the biggest Dallas Cowboys football fans. He loved coaching his sons in football and baseball. He also loved hunting, fishing, and car racing, and was a drummer at heart.

His father, Champion Fredrick McNett, preceded him in death. Those left to cherish him memory are his wife, Stella McNett of Glenmora; three sons, Travis, Champion II and Jesse; two daughters, Natasha and Marie; his mother, Marie McNett of Great Bend; one granddaughter, Rei Alice Guillory; five brothers, Marvin McNett of Sylvia, Fredrick McNett and Raymond McNett, both of Great Bend, and Shawn Melder and Erik Melder, both of Glenmora, La.; and two sisters, Catherine Johnson of Great Bend and Janice Melder of Glenmora.

A memorial funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Church of the Nazarene, Great Bend, with Pastor Josh Foster officiant. There will be a private family inurnment.
