SOUTH HUTCHINSON — Charles ‘Charlie’ E. Zinn, 75, of South Hutchinson, died May 8, 2020, at Mennonite Friendship Communities, South Hutchinson. He was born September 22, 1944, in Lamar, CO, to Leo and Genevieve (Caffrey) Zinn.
Charlie was a 1962 graduate of Liberal High School. He worked various jobs and retired as an insurance agent from Town and Country Insurance Company. Charlie had a passion for sports, from participating, to watching, and even coaching baseball for many years. He was an avid viewer of western television shows. Wherever Charlie was, there was always fun, and he never knew a stranger.
Charlie is survived by: his special companion, Nancy Banning of Hutchinson; children, Trina (Jim) Godbout of Olathe, Troy (Deana) Zinn of Rockdale, TX, Tracy Zinn of Phoenix, AZ, Tresha Petty of St. Joseph, MO, Tamra Zinn of Phoenix, AZ, Darrin (Kari) Banning of Buhler; brothers, Gary Zinn of South Hutchinson, and Don Zinn of Wichita; 16 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Larry Zinn.
Private memorial service will be Thursday, May 14, 2020, at Elliott Chapel, with The Reverend Mic McGuire officiating. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, May 11, 2020, through Wednesday, May 13, 2020.
