LARNED — Charles L. Pfenninger, 93, died Dec. 31, 2010 at Larned Healthcare Center. He was born Jan. 29, 1917, near Rozel, the son of Louis J. and Ora Grace Renfro Pfenninger. On March 1, 1941, he married Della G. Eilts at Yuma, Ariz. She died Jan. 26, 2003. A lifetime resident of Pawnee County, he retired from Roth Equipment Company as vice president and was a farm machinery salesman for 40 years.

He belonged to First United Methodist Church, Kiwanis Club since 1954, charter member of Fort Larned Historical Society and board member, and was a past president of Larned Chamber of Commerce.

Survivors include one daughter, Charlene Giles and husband Ben, Wichita, one sister, Grace Grandy, Rozel, three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers Howard, Chester and Harold.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Morell Funeral Home, Larned, with Pastor Bill Fitzgerrel presiding. Burial will be in Larned Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
