ELLINWOOD — Chester A. Kimble, 95, died July 24, 2012 at Ellinwood.
He was born Jan. 3, 1917, the son of James Arthur Kimble and Winifred Irene Moore.
He married Dorothy Mary Elmore Kimble. He was a retired barber who resided in Ellinwood for more than 50 years.  He served in the U.S. Army in World War II. Memberships included the United Methodist Church, Ellinwood; Lions Club; Ellinwood USD school board member and American Legion.
Survivors include sons Dr. James Kimble and wife Jan, Birmingham, Ala,; Kirk Kimble and wife Virginia, Wichita; a daughter, Kathy Harris and husband Harold, Winfield; seven grandchildren, Karen Kimble, Steve Kimble, Andrea Merrigan, Shawn Harris, Andrew Kimble, Amy Fix, and Katelyn Kimble; four great-grandchildren, Wilder Harris, Story Harris, Raanen Fix and Urih Fix; a stepson, Kent Harris; two step-great-grandsons, Cale and Tanner Harris.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Mary Elmore Kimble, a brother, Ivan Kimble, and sisters Neva Zimmerman, Ardith Koelling and Avis Wann.
A Funeral Service is scheduled at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 28 at the United Methodist Church, Ellinwood with Officiant Kirk Kimble. Visitation is scheduled from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 27 at Kimple Funeral Home. Burial will be at Lakin Comanche District Cemetery, Ellinwood.
Memorials are suggested to Friendship Meals, United Methodist Church or Hospice House.
