RUSSELL — Chris Alan Beck, 39, of Russell, died Nov. 9 at his home. Chris was born on Saturday, Feb. 5, 1972, in Great Bend, the son of Bud and Peggy (Quinley) Beck. He grew up and attended school in the Great Bend area. He moved to Russell in 2003 and worked as a truck driver for Russell County and Allied Cement. He also transported fuel trailers and grain hoppers. He enjoyed watching movies and spending time with his daughters.
He is survived by two daughters, Jessica and Emily Beck, both of Great Bend; his parents, Peggy and Bud Beck; two brothers, Nicholas Beck of Lawrence and Philip Beck of Davey, Neb.; and his daughter’s mother Sandy Smith of Great Bend.
A memorial service to honor and remember Chris’s life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, at the Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary in Russell, with Pastor Roger Dennis officiating. The family will be greeting guests from 6-7 p.m. Friday at the mortuary. Cremation has been selected by the family, so there will be no public viewing. Following the service, the cremains will be inurned at Russell City Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the Chris Beck Memorial Fund and sent in care of the mortuary.
