RUSH CENTER — Clara May Oliverius, 81, Lawrence, Kan., formerly of Rush Center, Kan., passed away Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2021, at Pioneer Ridge, Lawrence, Kan.

Clara was born March 5, 1940, in Atwood, Kan., the daughter of Clarence and Selma (Gray) Baumfalk. She was a resident of Lawrence, Kan., since January 2016, moving there from Rush County, Kan., where she had resided since 1973. A 1958 graduate of Atwood High School, Atwood, Kan., she received her Bachelor’s Degree in 1961, and her Master’s Degree in 1969 from Fort Hays Kansas State College, Hays, Kan. She was a teacher, and taught elementary and junior high students.

On Aug. 11, 1962, she married Roger J. Oliverius at Atwood, Kan. He preceded her in death Oct. 6, 2015.

Survivors include, her sons, James Ray “Jim” Oliverius (Lisa), Lawrence, Kan., Shelly Lyn Oliverius (Jenifer), Colorado Springs, Colo., and Tracy Alan Oliverius (Stacy), Ottawa, Kan.; a host of grandchildren; and one brother, Raymond Baumfalk, Atwood, Kan. She was preceded in death by her parents her husband; and one brother, Virgil Baumfalk.

Visitation will be Friday, Aug. 13, 2021, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Janousek Funeral Home, LaCrosse, Kan., with the family receiving friends from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Graveside service will be Saturday, Aug. 14, 2021, at 11 a.m. at the LaCrosse City Cemetery, LaCrosse, Kan., with Pastor Mark Sizemore officiating. Interment will be in the LaCrosse City Cemetery, LaCrosse, Kan. Memorials are suggested to the Rush County EMT’s, or Rush County Memorial Hospital, LaCrosse, Kan.
