HOISINGTON — Clarence Ray Christians, 82, died Dec. 1, 2015, at Clara Barton Hospital, Hoisington.
He was born on Aug. 26, 1933, on the family farm in rural Hoisington, the son of Chris W. and Stella (Parker) Christians. Clarence graduated from Hoisington High School in 1952.
A lifetime resident of Hoisington, he was a farmer and a stockman, and also worked as a pumper in the oil fields. Clarence was a member of the former Friends Church of Beaver. He also was a board member of both the Russell Rural Water District No. 3 and the Union Township Board.
On July 19, 1953, he married Keta Marquis in Beaver, Kansas.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Keta Christians; son, Ray Christians and wife Tina, Hoisington; a daughter, Patti Madden and husband Manley, Great Bend; a brother, John Christians, Lindsborg; sisters-in law, Carla Christians, Lindsborg and Lenora Christians, Lindsey, Okla.; grandchildren, Brooke Cherven, Cadillac, Mich.; Robin Linsner, Hoisington; Justin Christians, Great Bend; and Scott Christians, Hoisington; and 16 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by an infant son, Wayne Lee Christians, and a son, Michael Christians; brothers, Albert, Glenn, and Roy Christians; and sisters, Ella Jones, Edna Key, Laura Christians, and an infant sister, Cleo Christians.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Lyle Whiteman presiding. Burial will follow in Hoisington City Cemetery.
